Welcome to the Critical Assessment of Intrinsic protein Disorder
The the Critical Assessment of Intrinsic protein Disorder (CAID) experiment was established in 2018 as a community-based blind test to determine the state of the art in prediction of intrinsically disordered regions and the subset of residues involved in binding.
Given a protein sequence, the task of an ID predictor is to assign a score to each residue for its propensity of being intrinsically disordered at any stage of the protein’s life. In CAID, we evaluated the accuracy of the prediction methods as well as software runtimes, which directly impact their suitability for large-scale analyses.

Challenge

Prediction portal
The Prediction Portal is a web-server that allows you to execute all CAID prediction tools on your own sequences.
You can compare all the predictions in a single feature viewer and download the results in a comprehensive TSV file. More than 40 predictors are available
Dataset Repository
The Dataset Repository section consists of a collection of pre-calculated datasets of CAID predictions.
It is possible to submit your own set of proteins to be predicted by all CAID predictors. Browse the datasets repository
Prediction methods
The Methods section contains information about every method evaluated in CAID. Most of the methods can be executed from the CAID Prediction portal
